Pregnant Woman with Headache

Did you know that globally, half to three quarters of adults aged 18–65 years have had headache in the last year?   Among those individuals, 30% or more have reported migraine.  Up to 4% of adults get headaches on 15 or more days every month.  Headaches are common, and too many people wrongly think they are normal.

Unfortunately, the medical norm is for people treat the symptoms of headache after they happen, using over the counter or prescription drugs.  No drugs ever fix the underlying issue that is causing the headache.  In fact, chronic use of pharmaceuticals can even CAUSE headaches.  Fortunately, we have helped hundreds of people beat headaches naturally by using gentle chiropractic care.

In case you can't get an adjustment, here are a few tips to help guide you toward freedom from some common sources of headaches.

Cluster Headaches: Cluster headaches are relatively brief, very painful, and occur up to seven times per day, usually around one eye.  They are typically triggered by chemical stress.  When your body is exposed to toxins via alcohol, vaping, smoking, nitrates and preservatives in fast food, among other things.  Try eliminating chemical stress by avoiding it, drinking clean water, and exercising.

Tension Headaches: Up to 70% of people get tension headaches up to 14 days per month, with 3% getting them more than 15 days per month.  Tension headaches feel like a tightness in the head and neck.  The most common trigger for tension headaches is emotional stress, or in some cases, injury to the head or neck muscles.  Try using measures such as meditation, journaling, and organization to manage emotional stress and lessen your headaches.

Migraine Headaches: Migraines occur on one side of the head and may last many hours or all day.  Migraines are usually triggered by chemical stress.  Try using the same strategy as cluster headaches.  In addition, having regular sleep patterns helps to detoxify your brain (a key task completed during sleep)
